John Peters assets sold

THE assets of the John Peters chain of furniture shops have been bought by a former director of the company that used to own them.
Business Dream, which operated John Peters stores in York, Hull, Doncaster, Wakefield and Guiseley, went into liquidation at the end of October.
Oak Contract Solutions, a company led by former Business Dream director John Cussins, has now bought the assets of John Peters and has promised to honour as many customer orders as possible.
At least two John Peters shops will continue to trade.
Liquidator Chris Brooksbank, of O’Hara & co, said: “John Peters has a strong reputation within the region and a solid customer base.
“We are pleased to have concluded a sale so quickly, securing the future of various outlets and employment for a number of the company’s existing staff.”
Mr Brooksbank was advised by Alice Pratt of Leeds legal firm Clarion and Mark Hodgson of Michael Steel & Co.
