Latest appointments: New recruit at Longbow; Tax specialist joins PwC; and more

JULIAN Naylor has joined Longbow Real Estate Capital, a provider of mezzanine finance on UK commercial property, to expand its investment activity in the North.
Mr Naylor has spent most of his career within corporate and real estate banking in Leeds and Manchester, most recently as regional director for Anglo Irish Bank.
Longbow, which was established in 2006, is able to support a wide range of real estate opportunities including acquisition and development finance, debt restructuring and loan book acquisition.
Mr Naylor said: “With the real estate markets still starved of leverage and the number of transactions starting to increase, it is an exciting time to be offering mezzanine funding and I am looking forward to assisting clients to take full advantage of the substantial opportunities that will flow in the North West and Yorkshire.”

CARTER Jonas has added to its planning department with the hire of two senior planners.
Stephen Courcier and Emma Cruickshank have joined the Harrogate office to help handle its increasing workload.
Ms Cruickshank is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) and previously worked for Spawforths in Leeds following her graduation from Newcastle University in 2006.
Mr Courcier is also a member of the RTPI and has made his first move in to the private sector, having previously worked for Selby Council and most recently Wakefield Council.

THE Leeds office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) has appointed senior manager David Williams.
Mr Williams will specialise in tax human resources service (HRS) for the technology, information, communication, entertainment and energy industries.
He has experience in a number of sectors including his roles as director of personnel for the command team at West Midlands Police, non-executive director for the Mid Staffordshire Foundation Health Trust, as well as time in local government and the power industry.
Mr Williams also worked on secondment at Detroit Edison in America, where he was tasked with reviewing workforce planning dynamics in comparison with the UK power generation industry.

ANDREW Marsh has been appointed as corporate director for Barclays Corporate covering South Yorkshire.
Based in Sheffield, Mr Marsh will head the team that serves the diverse needs of business customers around the South Yorkshire region.
Responsibilities will include managing a team of relationship directors and their dedicated support teams, who provide banking services for business customers typically with a turnover in excess of £5m.

ECOMMERCE specialists Chapter Eight has welcomed Jamie McGrath, Jess Wilkinson and Helen Cross to its team.
Jamie McGrath joins as a search specialist, bringing with him four years experience in the digital sector, covering all disciplines including pay per click and social media marketing.
Jess Wilkinson has been appointed as PR manager. After completing a PR degree, she gained experience across in-house and agency roles, working with a variety of brands including Morrisons, Marks & Spencer, Specsavers and the Institute of Directors.
Helen Cross takes up the position of junior web designer. Prior to joining Chapter Eight Helen completed her degree in graphic design and went on to work for web design and search marketing agencies.
