Motor group drives forward with expansion programme

A FAMILY motor group has today announced that it is to open a new dealership in central Leeds.
Harratts will open its new Peugeot dealership on Scott Hall Road next month – its twelfth in the region.
The group has taken over the territory of Robins & Day Horsforth – offering its employees jobs at the new dealership.
Harratts has also taken over the Peugeot territory from Evans Halshaw Central Leeds.
The latest move forms part of an aggressive expansion programme for Harratts, which opened a new dealership in Wakefield six months ago and recently announced a £175,000 investment in staff training.
Capitalising on the success of its Peugeot dealership in Barnsley, the new showroom will open amid the 200th anniversary celebrations for the Peugeot brand, next to the group’s Leeds Volvo dealership.
Terry Bramley, who has been with the group for nearly 35 years, will head up the dealership as general manager.
Managing director Shaun Harratt said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Peugeot dealership today, which will open its doors next month, safeguarding local jobs in the process.
“We already have a very successful Peugeot dealership in Barnsley so it is a natural progression for us to take a city centre site in Leeds.”
He added: “We are also very pleased to offer staff at Robins & Day positions at the new dealership and increase our staffing levels in the future in line with the growth of the dealership.”
