Plans approved for YES! Project

OAK Holdings, the company behind the multi-million pound YES! Project in Yorkshire, has confirmed that the project has taken a major step forward after being given the green light by planners.
The leisure business operator said Rotherham Borough Council yesterday considered the revised application for the YES! Project.
The company said the Council’s planning board agreed to grant planning consent and refer the recommendation for approval to the Local Government Office in accordance with statutory requirements.
Oak Holdings previously submitted an application to extend planning permission for the YES! leisure project in South Yorkshire, which will create one of the largest undercover, leisure-based, resort and convention destinations in Europe.
The site covers 327 acres and is located adjacent to the Rother Valley Country Park.
Oak Holdings asked shareholders to raise £1.5m in a share placing last October, which led it to to acquire Hampshire attraction Ringwood Town & Country Experience, a museum and heritage centre.
It acquired Rother Valley Country Park, a 1,000 acre country park with four major lakes, in 2009
The company also announced today that Graham Axford has resigned as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
