SILK Family Law has welcomed three new recruits to its team of specialist family lawyers.

The former family department of Jacksons Solicitors’ Teesside office has joined Silk in a move that sees former Jacksons partner Amanda Baker, legal executive Wendy Beacom and secretary Pauline Hodgson strengthen the 16-strong Silk team based across two sites in North Yorkshire and Newcastle.

The three new team members will be based at Silk’s North Yorkshire office.

Silk partner Margaret Simpson said: “Both Amanda and Wendy are incredibly experienced family law practitioners with an excellent reputation across the north, and we’re delighted to welcome them, and Pauline, to Silk.

“Since our launch a year ago, our client base is expanding and our team works closely to provide the right advice and representation for clients. Adding Amanda and Wendy’s expertise to what is already a very strong team will enable us to maintain and continue that growth without compromising the client service on which we’ve built the business.”

THE Insurance Partnership, the Yorkshire insurance broker, has recruited three new team members.

The appointments see the company strengthen core areas of existing operation and expand into the care home sector.
 
Tom Lowe will work as an account executive at the company’s corporate risk division in Leeds after joining from Towergate.
 
Mark Gate will work at the company’s York office majoring on the care homes sector.
 
Lorraine Elvidge has been appointed a commercial account handler, also based at the York office.

YORKSHIRE law firm McCormicks has appointed a new trainee solicitor.

Ben Wilson joined the Harrogate-based practice as a legal assistant and has now been given a training contract.

At McCormicks Mr Wilson will specialise in all aspects of corporate and commercial work, both contentious and non contentious, and assist Partners Peter McCormick, James Martin and Richard Crabb in the firm’s sports law practice.

JAMIE Eveleigh has joined Langleys law firm after recently becoming a fully qualified solicitor. 

Stephen Elliott, partner in York-based Langleys’ employment Unit, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jamie to the team and congratulate him on becoming a fully qualified solicitor at the same time. 

“We are fortunate in having attracted a number of new clients to the team in recent months and our workload has increased substantially, so we have been looking to strengthen the team for some time.
