Liberum Capital closes office

BOUTIQUE investment bank Liberum Capital has closed its office in Leeds.

Gary Taylor and Peter Rowe were hired by Liberum to launch the office in November 2010 as it looked to help firms with fundraising.

However, in a letter to contacts sent over the weekend, Mr Taylor said Mr Rowe had moved to Zeus Capital and he would be concentrating on his old business, CBF Capital, which has been rebranded to Delectus Capital.

He wrote: “I like many are sorry that Liberum chose to close their Leeds Office as we really believed that the region would benefit from having a large investment bank.

“Suffice to say, both Peter and myself have appreciated your support and hope that in one way or another that the North of England will see a resurgence in PLC transactions.”

He said Delectus would help companies, land owners and distressed property developers to find financial strategies “to see business built, land developed and properties completed”.

Mr Taylor added that he was “well advanced” with setting up a global charity fundraising business.

Liberum Capital could not be reached for comment.
