Crisp company appoints to boost growth

SEABROOK Crisps has announced it has appointed a new commercial director.

John Tague has joined the Bradford-based company and is tasked with achieving a three-fold sales increase within next three years.

Mr Tague joins from Dextra Solutions, Europe’s largest distributor of mobile phone accessories and other mobile products, and brings a proven track record of developing routes to market and increasing sales growth.

Prior to this, he spent six years in the entertainment industry working with The Walt Disney Company.

He said: “I am fascinated by the Seabrook business and believe that it really is a sleeping giant. It is very clear that once people engage with the Seabrook brand they develop a real passion for it. The product is fantastic, the heritage fascinating and the personality magnetic. Expanding distribution channels is therefore key to unlocking the power of this brand.”

Seabrook chairman, Ken Brook-Crispin, said: “His previous roles have focused heavily on business growth through retail distribution strategies and that is exactly what Seabrook needs. The crisp sector is extremely promotionally driven and we want to help retailers drive value back into this heavily traded category.”

Seabrook Crisps is one of Britain’s oldest crisp manufacturers.

Earlier this month it announced it is to become the official sponsor of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

The deal begins in May and will last until the end of the season.
