Venture targets care market

A HEALTHCARE entrepreneur has launched his fourth business venture in Yorkshire.

Imran Zahir has opened a new day care centre in Rotherham that will also supply meals on wheels to the local community.

He said: “With an ageing population, services for the elderly and their carers have never been so important and I hope the new day care centre will provide respite for the elderly in the local community in Maltby.

“It’s also great that we’ve managed to renovate a previously unused property which will help regenerate the area.”

The centre, employing five staff, joins a portfolio that includes Care Maltby and Care Headingley as well as childcare firm Tot Spot Early Years.

Russell Briggs, relationship director at Barclays Corporate which is providing funding, said: “It really is a pleasure to see a local healthcare company go from strength to strength and buck the current market trend.”
