Agent appointed to Gateway Plaza

ESTATE agent William H Brown has been appointed to join the residential sales team at the £70m mixed-use Gateway Plaza scheme in Barnsley.

Joint developers Quest Property and Landmark Development Projects have appointed the Barnsley agent.

The agent will be working in conjunction with sales and marketing director, Danielle Cooper, and Leeds-based residential agents King Sturge to assist purchasers of the 188 apartments within the development.

Phil Elliott, branch partner at William H Brown, said: “Gateway Plaza is undoubtedly one of the region’s most exciting developments and the residential offering is in a league of its own in Barnsley. Purchasers have a great opportunity to be part of the town’s first large scale mixed-use development and benefit from the plaza lifestyle.

“Having the offices, Premier Inn, Brewers Fayre restaurant and the retail opportunities within the complex means that people have everything they need on their doorstep whilst only being a couple of minutes walk from all the town’s amenities.

“The apartments offer people stylish yet affordable city-style living. We have already had a lot of interest in the apartments from people looking to relocate within Barnsley and are also witnessing a real surge of enquiries from people who want affordable living options within commuting distance of their Leeds and Sheffield workplaces.”

Chris Gilman, director of Landmark Development Projects, said: “We selected William H Brown to join our residential team based on their vast knowledge of the local market and also their strong reputation. Barnsley is undergoing major regeneration and we wanted the people of Barnsley to benefit from the lifestyle offering at Gateway Plaza.

“In much the same way as we want to accommodate local businesses alongside national office occupiers on the commercial side, we want to provide affordable contemporary living accommodation for the local market with the residential element.

“The beauty of mixed use developments, particularly ones of this scale, is that they have mass appeal and it is economically significant for the future of the town to bring together these local occupiers and national investors.”
