Major appointments made at groups

THE boards of materials technology company Dyson and car dealer Lookers today made major appointments.
Christopher Kinsella will become Sheffield-based Dyson’s group finance director on September 1. Mr Kinsella became a non-executive director of the group last October and has been heavily involved in the financial management of the business since the departure of Nick Parker at the end of March.
In addition to his duties as finance director, Mr Kinsella will assume responsibility for IT and associated systems, as well as playing an active role in the development and implementation of the group’s new strategy.
Meanwhile, Lookers, has appointed Peter Jones as operations director.
Lookers acquired two VW dealerships and a contract hire fleet from Harrogate-based Bramall and Jones for £1.75m and £2m of debt last month.
It made the acquisition from Yorkshire car sales veteran, Tony Bramall, who founded Bramall and Jones in 2004 after the £230m sale of his CD Bramall motor retail business.
Mr Bramall teamed up with former CD Bramall chief executive Mr Jones, 51, to launch Bramall and Jones.
David Mace has also retired from Lookers after serving for six years as a non-executive director.
