SHEFFIELD is set to host the retail and regeneration conference, an event for retailers and regeneration professionals considering new places to invest.

Taking place on June 25 the conference will highlight the benefits of investing in Sheffield, focusing on the prospects for independent and High Street retailers in the regeneration of the city as a retail hub.

The event will provide a platform for current and potential retailers to influence the resurgence of shopping in the city through the creation of a retailer’s forum.
 
The conference is being organised by Sheffield City Council and Creativesheffield, the city’s development agency.

THE child-safety equipment firm Little Helper has won £100,000 of investment from Yorkshire Association of Business Angels.

The Sheffield-based firm, which is behind the FunPod, an award-winning safety device, plans to use the money to develop its product range.

Four investors from the Business Angels backed Little Helper because they thought it would continue to grow.

The Association of Business Angels is a non profit-making introduction service that puts entrepreneurs looking for funding in touch with people seeking to invest in start-up and early growth business opportunities.

THE Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) – the UK’s leading gardening charity dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting the joy of gardening to all – has appointed Front to promote its prestigious annual flower shows.

The three year contract covers broadcast, press advertising, direct marketing and online activity for shows including RHS Spring Flower Show, Cardiff, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park .

Sheffield-based Front has also appointed MediaVest to plan and buy all media for each show.

A SEMINAR targeted at the Leeds city region property and construction sector is being held at Weetwood Hall on June 4.

It has been organised jointly by accountants and business advisers PKF, law firm Cobbetts, property firm DTZ, Leeds City Council and banking group Alliance and Leicester.

Colin Hughes, of Alliance & Leicester, will discuss potential changes in the economy and the implications for the West Yorkshire region while Phil Crabtree, of Leeds City Council, will look at regional challenges and practicalities.

The event starts with registration and breakfast at 8.15am and ends at 12.30pm, followed by lunch.
