Corporate lawyer joins new team

CORPORATE finance lawyer David Strachan has joined solicitors Schofield Sweeney.

David Strachan’s appointment coincides with the tenth anniversary of Schofield Sweeney’s launch and a decade of year-on-year growth for the firm.

Prior to his move, David Strachan practised with Eversheds in Leeds for 23 years, 19 of those as a partner.

He has been involved in a significant number of large deals in the city, including the multi-million pound sale of Bradford chemicals company AH Marks and the £100m acquisition of Revenue Assurance Services by the Leeds-based utility support services company Spice .

He also acts as legal adviser to Horsforth chemicals company Clariant and the international Woolmark Company based in Ilkley.

He is Chairman of Leeds Cares, a division of the charity Business in the Community.

Mr Strachan said: “Joining Schofield Sweeney will enable me to continue to offer the highest level of corporate finance advice, particularly to Yorkshire-based medium and large businesses. I am also looking forward to maintaining strong client-lawyer relationships, which I believe is an essential part of a business lawyer’s role and which is a fundamental element of the Schofield Sweeney ethos.”
