Ex-banking trio launch finance company

A TRIO of bankers have joined forces to launch their own corporate finance business after spotting a gap in the regional financial services market.
Paul Massie, Wayne Goodman and Ian Hart – all formerly Royal Bank of Scotland managers – have formed Platinum Money, based at Calder Business Park, Wakefield.
The company arranges business, commercial, property investment and development finance, including development finance, commercial mortgages, bridging finance, cash flow and asset finance.
Director Paul Massie said: “We founded Platinum Money to fill what we perceive to be a significant niche in the market. We have all worked with various introducers but very few, if any, specialised exclusively in commercial and property-related finance and fewer still had a strong banking background and experience.
“We tend to find that many business owners and property developers are very good at what they do but could be even more successful if they had someone pro-actively looking after their funding arrangements. By bringing us in for an hour or two for free, we can review the existing funding arrangements and spot opportunities to save money.”
Despite the current climate the team believe that they can bridge the gap between lenders not willing to lend in certain sectors and the borrowers.
Mr Massie added: “A specialist with our experience can structure a deal in the most attractive way for a lender and we also know the market inside out so know where to look to find a home for deals.”
