Auxilion opens Sheffield base

IRISH IT support service business Auxilion has chosen Yorkshire for its first overseas operation.

It is setting up a base at The Workstation, in Sheffield, which will be run by 25 people working both there and at its Dublin headquarters.

Auxilion chief operating officer Eleanor Graham said: “Sheffield is really making a name for itself as a technology hub.

“There are already a number of major tech companies located here, and even more small and start-up companies in the enterprise and innovation centres around the city. The tech sector is really thriving.”

The company chose Sheffield after speaking to the city’s economic development agency Creative Sheffield.

Coun Leigh Bramall, cabinet member for business skills and development, said: “It is fantastic that fast growing businesses such as Auxilion have recognised that Sheffield is a vibrant, business friendly location.

“A key part of our activity is supporting businesses to invest in the city. We will continue to do what we can help enterprise thrive, to boost the economy and create jobs for local people.”
