Paragon Square redevelopment begins

WORK is underway at a Hull city centre site that will see the creation of a new restaurant and refurbishment of a former bar.

A building formerly home to a gun shop and nail salon in Paragon Square are being demolished to make way for Hall Construction Group to build the restaurant.

It is part of a wider plan by the owners of the site to create a new dining quarter in the area.

Paul White, associate director for retail and leisure at Hull-based Garness Jones Chartered Surveyors, who are acting for the owners of the site, said: “This really is a prime site, directly across the road from the transport interchange, close to St Stephen’s Shopping Centre and highly visible to thousands of people who travel past on Ferensway every day.

“Paragon Square presents many people with their first view of Hull city centre. This development will make sure those first impressions are positive, and for that reason we should not underestimate the importance of the project.

THe new premises will offer just over 1,000 sq ft of restaurant space on each of two floors. Next door, the former bar will be refurbished to provide just over 1,200 sq ft on the ground floor, more than 1,100 sq ft on each of the first and second floors and a further 750 sq ft on the third floor.
