Joseph Turner moves into womenswear

MAIL order clothes retailer Joseph Turner has launched its first ever womenswear collection.
The Thirsk-based business has invested £250,000 to create its womenswear catalogue with the new lines going on sale this month.
Founder and managing director Chris Legard said: “This collection has been in development for almost two years and we have spent a lot of time talking to our female customers to make sure that we understand exactly what they are looking for.
“We have also gone into painstaking detail in terms of design, cut and fabric quality as we are well aware how discerning our target market is and I want to be absolutely certain that we meet, or even exceed, their expectations the first time of asking.”
Founded in 1977, Joseph Turner has enjoyed average year-on-year growth of 15% and now employs 25 people.
The majority of the new collection is either manufactured in the UK or uses fabrics and yarns made in this country.
