Funds in place to complete Leeds United deal

GFH CAPITAL, the finance house in talks to buy Leeds United, has provided proof that it has the funds in place to complete the deal, according to the club.

In a joint statement released this morning, Leeds United chairman Ken Bates said: “It’s been a long road but we are in a good place. Both sides have been in talks over the last few days to finalise this deal.

“We are keeping focused and hope to complete very soon.”

Mr Bates went on to criticise the media over what he described as a number of inaccurate reports on the situation.

David Haigh, deputy chief executive of GFH Capital added: “With the money in place we are poised to make this deal happen pending agreements which are in the interests of the future of Leeds United – we need to make sure all the finer detail is addresses before trading signatures.”
