Asda recruits communications head

SUPERMARKET chain Asda has appointed a new head of communications.

Russell Craig is joining the firm from Manchester Airport Group where he holds a similar role.

Mr Craig will be Asda’s head of communications for UK and Ireland and also for Walmart Europe.

He has been with Manchester Airport for 10 years.

He told TheBusinessDesk.com: “It is a huge wrench to leave, but this opportunity is too big to turn down.

“It is an immensely exciting challenge with one of the biggest companies in the world.”

Mr Craig who lives in Glossop will be based in Asda’s head office in Leeds. He will take up his new role early in February.
