Casino appoints to boost profile

ALEA – the £13m casino due to open in Leeds next month – has announced it has appointed Eva Rees as sales and events manager to drive and develop its presence in the area.
Alea, part of London Casinos group, has appointed Miss Rees who will be responsible for liaising with prospective clients and generating new business with regional and national firms.
Miss Rees joins Alea from Mace Park Group at Silverstone, where as event manager she was responsible for corporate hospitality within the F1 arena.
Miss Rees said: “I am delighted to be joining Alea Leeds. We have a fantastic venue here and I am relishing the opportunity to demonstrate to clients, both old and new, what we have to offer. Alea Leeds is aiming to be the regions premier events space, offering Las Vegas style glamour and excitement within this spectacular casino complex and I look forward to contributing to its success.”
Andy Orr, venue director of Alea Leeds Casino, said: “Eva brings with her a broad range of experience and knowledge, which can only benefit Alea Leeds growth and expansion plans.”
Alea is part of the increasingly popular Clarence Dock development, situated next to The Royal Armouries.
The £260m waterside development has recently attracted a number of high profile operators including restaurants Aagrah, Mumtaz, Pizza Express and @Larocca.
Developer Crosby Lend Lease has also announced that urban lifestyle fashion brands All Saints, Rock Couture and G-Star will take occupation at Clarence Dock later this year.
Alea Leeds Casino is the sister casino to Manchester235, whose success in the past two years has attracted top celebrity customers including cast members from Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Manchester United and City footballers.
