Verder on the move with funding boost

NEW jobs could be created by a manufacturing business as it positions itself for further growth with a move to new premises after securing funding.

Verder UK, whose parent company Verder International BV is based in the Netherlands, has moved from Whitehouse Street in Leeds to California Drive in Castleford.

The company manufactures and supplies leak-free pumping solutions throughout the world to a variety of industries including water and wastewater, chemical, food and beverage, construction and pharmaceutical.

Financial director David Court said: “It’s great that we’ve been able to expand with the move to new premises which will allow many more opportunities with more space for new lines and the opportunity to expand the testing we do on products and services. The funding has enabled us to not only purchase the freehold but also to invest in new kit and equipment.”

Verder UK employs over 60 staff and has a turnover of £12m in the UK. The company said it is looking to continue with its growth strategy and create further job opportunities.

Alex Pryce, relationship director at Barclays who handled the deal, said: “It’s good to see a local manufacturer bucking the trend and thriving in the current climate.

“The new funding means that the company is well placed to take advantage of opportunities arising and leaves the business well positioned for further growth within its chosen markets.”
