Media Buzz: Finn PR, Midnight Burner, Acceleris, Allott & Associates

Finn PR has been tasked with helping to drive footfall at the iconic The Blackpool Tower.

Attractions at the Merlin Entertainments venue include The Blackpool Tower Eye and 4D cinema experience, The Blackpool Tower Ballroom, and The Blackpool Tower Dungeon.

The Leeds-based agency’s programme of activity for each attraction includes a combination of media relations, influencer relations and social media maximisation.

Sarah Lundy, marketing manager for Merlin in Blackpool, said: “Finn’s appointment brings the fresh approach to our communications programme that we were looking for. The agency’s commerciality and highly strategic campaign proposal was something we hadn’t seen before.”

Finn has been appointed on a retained basis, with key spikes of PR activity to coincide with seasonal dates for the resort and the attractions.

TREND marketing consultancy Midnight Burner has been appointed to deliver communications support to charity Henshaws.

Henshaws Society for Blind People, one of the oldest charities in the north of England, has appointed Midnight Burner to provide PR support around key activity in 2013.

The consultancy will provide PR, marketing communications and fundraising support, initially focused on the launch of new IT facilities at Henshaws College in Harrogate.

The charity, which celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2012, provides expert care, advice and training to anyone affected by sight loss – as well as supporting people with other disabilities.

Paul Amourdedieu, Leeds and London-based Midnight Burner co-founder and campaigns director, said: “Henshaws is doing great things to ensure people who use its services are able to live an independent and full life. Although predominantly focused in the North, their dedicated team has helped thousands of families across the UK.”

The announcement comes after Mr Amourdedieu was voted onto the board of Voluntary Action Leeds’ trading arm, VT Services, which provides support services to the third sector.
