Major sponsors unveiled for charity football match

TOWNGATE and Harworth Estates are to sponsor the two teams competing in this year’s Yorkshire Property Charity Football match.
The major names have been secured by the committee organising the afternoon match, which is to be held at MEPC’s Wellington Place scheme in Leeds on Thursday, September 12, followed by a dinner at The Queens hotel.
Harworth Estates is to sponsor the client’s side. Carl Wright, of Jack Lunn, will manage the side and will hope for better fortunes after leading the losing side for the past two years.
Campbell Carruth, of Harworth Estates, said: “Having attended the event many times we are delighted to sponsor the client’s team this year, and whilst we hope the team make it third time lucky I am sure it will be a highly competitive match again this year.
“The event raises a fantastic amount for charity and the committee assure me they are going to make this year a record breaking year and raise the most money so far for children’s charity Barnardo’s.”
The event – now in its ninth year – has raised more than £125,000 in total. More than £26,000 was raised last year when almost 500 property professionals attended the match and dinner.
Rob Smith, of Towngate, said: “We have supported the event for many years and feel it is a fantastic day and evening with the net result benefiting many from the local community. I am confident the boys will again bring the trophy back to our base at Brighouse!”
Craig Burrow, director at Bruntwood and part of the organising committee, added: “The support and interest we have received so far this year has been phenomenal, but there are still sponsorship packages available and I would encourage anyone interested in supporting the event through sponsorship or by taking a table to get in touch early as it is fully expected to be another sell out event.”
