Law students offer helping hand to Yorkshire start-ups

LAW firm Eversheds and BPP Law School have joined forces to offer free commercial legal advice to the region’s entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs.

The pro bono clinic is by appointment only with meetings being held at the BPP Law School premises at Whitehall Quay in Leeds city centre.

Eversheds staff attend client meetings together with a BPP student and advice is given in the form of a letter within 10 working days of the appointment.

Claire Illingworth, senior lecturer and pro bono co-ordinator at BPP Leeds, said: “Our collaboration with Eversheds in this new venture is the first of its kind across all BPP Law Schools.

“Working with expert lawyers at Eversheds, our students have a fantastic opportunity to develop their legal skills as well as providing an invaluable free service to the commercial sector.”

The clinic is held on Tuesday evenings during BPP’s term time from 5-7pm.

The clinic will now also be open over summer with appointments available every Tuesday between June 25 and August 27.

For more information or to make an appointment contact BPP on 0113 3868257.
