Manufacturer acquires new site as it boosts business

YORKSHIRE manufacturer, Norseman Direct, is on an expansion roll after purchasing a new warehouse.

The Leeds-based manufacturer of bespoke trolleys, display and storage units has bought a 29,000 sq ft warehouse for manufacturing and storage close to Norseman Direct’s existing factory and was sparked by a period of unprecedented growth and a 30% staff increase to a team of 50.

Richard Larking, commercial property specialist and partner at the Leeds office of hlw Keeble Hawson, acted for Norseman Direct. 

He said: “This expansion underpins a vibrant and successful growth story for this Yorkshire family manufacturer whose products are used in supermarkets and institutions the length and breadth of the UK”.

The company, which was launched in 1992 by managing director, John White, manufactures for major retailers and multiples as well as numerous schools, colleges and universities across the country. 

It’s range of products for school dining rooms including self-service salad bars and display units are used by many of the 25,000 plus primary schools in the UK.

Managing director, Mr White, said: “I have a long association with Richard Larking and his customary effectiveness in handling all aspects of this transaction has been extremely helpful. Our new facility reflects our hard-working ethos and commitment to our valued customers.” 

The expansion was supported by Andy King, director for Santander business development, Yorkshire.
