RAE looks forward to vibrant future

A BUOYANT engineering business is making positive steps in its programme of expansion.

West Yorkshire’s Richard Alan Engineering was recently awarded an exclusive license, part of a seven figure deal, to manufacture and sell a range of chemical giant BASF’s products.

Today, the business, which manufactures a range of engineered
equipment in the water, chemical, process and manufacturing industries, said this agreement is the start of a prosperous leap forwards.

Robert Johnson, managing director of Richard Alan Engineering, said: “Richard
Alan Engineering has been the manufacturer of this range of BASF equipment for over 15 years. The exclusive rights to market and distribute this established, market-leading range of equipment across Europe is a significant and exciting step forward for our company.”

The Dewsbury-headquartered business said this new deal, which covers a range of equipment for water treatment applications, will grow the business “quite significantly” and give it a wider customer base.

Kathy Bradley of the Richard Alan group, said: We sell our products to virtually all water companies in the UK and despite having worked as the manufacturer of BASF equipment for a long time, we decided that we needed to be the face of the industry ourselves.”

The business, which employs 140 people, is taking on a number of new staff, is recruiting apprentices and has recently added a 35,000 sq ft manufacturing site to its portfolio.

Bradley said: “It is very buoyant here at the moment, everyone is excited about the business.”
