ONYX Group, the provider of data centre and IT infrastructure services to Yorkshire businesses, has appointed John Toal to the position of sales and marketing director as the company continues to expand.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the IT Sector, Toal was previously director of the UK’s largest enterprise computing distributor, Avnet UK, successfully driving ambitious growth targets for the £700m business over a two year period.

As part of his new role, he will look to expand the company’s customer base to maximise the investment that Onyx has made into new infrastructure and services.

During the last 12 months, Onyx Group has attracted high profile businesses to its customer base. Most notably, a five year, multi-million pound deal was secured with Edinburgh Airport to manage its IT Infrastructure. Scotland is a key area within Onyx Group’s growth strategy and remains central to its plans.

Yorkshire also has seen significant investment, including the opening of a state-of-the-art data centre in Sheffield.
