ADEPT Consulting Engineers is looking forward to new opportunities as it gets set to open a second office in London.

The West Yorkshire company said it has built a “strong” reputation for providing innovative civil and structural engineering solutions and its decision to open a second office in the capital reflects a growing customer base in the South. It said the new office will enable more direct contact with its growing client portfolio in the South.

Managing director, Erol Erturan, said: “Many of our clients and associates are based in London or find it an easy destination to travel to. We work in a highly competitive industry where perception is an important factor and there are definite advantages to having a presence in London.”

A portfolio of overseas projects has helped achieve a 45% growth in Leeds-based Adept’s income over the last year but the company said its core strength remains in the range of professional services it provides in the UK.

Current projects include the £20m Glanford Retail Park in Scunthorpe and steel frame designs for the £100m biomass conversion of the Drax Power Plant. With continuing work for long-term clients, such as Next and Marshall Construction, it said its order books for the coming year look “very healthy”.

“This is the perfect time for us to expand,” Erturan said.

“As a technology driven company, it is particularly important that prospective clients can engage directly with us and I’m certain it will open up many more opportunities.”
