PwC appoints Will Richardson to head up deals

PwC has appointed Yorkshire-based partner Will Richardson to head up the deals team in the North East.

His role will oversee the whole of the deals practice, which includes corporate finance, transactions services, business recovery services and forensic services teams. He will oversee the deals team in the Leeds, Newcastle, Sheffield and Hull offices.

Richardson leads the professional firm’s forensics practice across the North and has been with the business for 20 years, working on high profile forensic cases ranging from accounting investigations at FTSE businesses, to acting as a High Court expert witness in multi-million pound disputes.

He said: “Linking our four core deals services closer together enables us to respond to our clients’ needs quickly and offer complementary, specialist skills. This helps them create and protect value throughout an organisation’s lifecycle, whether it’s at times of expansion and restructuring or anxiety and crisis.

“Having one lead across the region reflects our strategy of building the right team of sector and service specialists so that we can continue to help our clients achieve their objectives, grow and support the wider economic recovery. It is an exciting time to be taking up this role as confidence in the local markets continues to return.”

Across its four North East offices, PwC has over 170 deals specialists and 1,200 staff.
