Healthcare business awards open for entries

ONE of the region’s premier healthcare business awards event is now open for entries.
The Medilink Healthcare Business Awards, organised by Medilink Yorkshire and Humber – the organisation dedicated to the growth of the healthcare sector, is the region’s biggest event for celebrating innovation, growth and commercial success of organisation’s operating in healthcare technology and life sciences.
Winners of the Yorkshire & Humber awards are entered into the Medilink UK Awards, where they will compete with other organisations from across the UK for the national title.
In recognition of the major structural changes being seen in the NHS, and in line with the Government’s emphasis on the sector’s potential to improve the health and wealth of the nation, the award categories cover areas such as innovation, export and industrial engagement with the NHS.
The categories are:
– The Start-Up Award: for newly established companies (trading up to three years) in the healthcare technologies sector that show a promising future
– Innovation: for the development of an innovative technology, design or process that has produced major improvements in business performance or end user benefits
– Partnership with the NHS: for the development of a collaboration with the NHS that has, or will have, a major impact or benefit on business performance or patient care
– Outstanding Achievement: for an achievement that has had a significant or vital impact on the company
– The Export Achievement Award: for outstanding performance in international trade
Deadline for entries is October 31 and companies and organisations can enter more than one category.
Kevin Kiely, managing director of Medilink Yorkshire & Humber, said: “This region has an outstanding tradition of companies from the healthcare technology and life sciences sector pushing the boundaries of design, innovation and export – and it is very important that these achievements are celebrated.
“The awards reflect the healthcare technology sector’s continuing growth in our region and we’re looking forward to showcasing the successes of organisations in these vital areas.”
