Paperworks secures grant for growth

A SOCIAL enterprise that provides business support services to fund skills training for people with disabilities in North and West Yorkshire has been awarded a £20,000 grant to support growth.

Paperworks has received funding from Santander’s Social Enterprise Development Awards, which will be used to buy new equipment for its two workshops in Leeds and Harrogate. It will also be used for website development to allow orders to be processed online.

Paperworks has been operating in Harrogate for 18 years and opened a second site in Leeds last year.

Its print finishing, fulfilment and mailing services for, businesses across the UK, provides training and work experience placements for adults with learning and physical disabilities, sensory impairment or mental health related support needs.

Damien Handslip, Manager, Paperworks, said: “We’re delighted to receive the award from Santander. By purchasing new equipment we’ll improve the efficiency of our operations and processes which in turn will allow us to increase the number of trainees we can support.”
 
Santander’s 2013 Social Enterprise Development Awards saw a further 14 awards given to social enterprises in the North of England.
 
The awards are part of Santander’s commitment to supporting small businesses in the UK.
