Social enterprise sets out to support new businesses

THREE Yorkshire entrepreneurs are aiming to kick-start the economy with the launch of a social enterprise for new businesses.

Kickstart4Business is a not-for-profit community interest company created to help new businesses keep their start-up costs to a minimum and provide ongoing training, consultancy and support to help them grow.

The venture is calling on the region’s corporate companies to support start-up businesses and to become ‘business buddies’ to the next generation of Yorkshire entrepreneurs.

Kickstart4Business, launched by Darren Precious, Teresa Bowe and Mark Scott, is hosting a series of free workshops in Harrogate, which are open to anyone who has recently launched a business or is considering starting up.

Ms Bowe said: “Having recently started my own business I am acutely aware of the challenges involved, it takes courage to take those first steps and we are here to help people get started but importantly support them throughout those first few difficult months of trading.”

Mr Precious added: “The private sector will be responsible for our economic recovery and we are asking Yorkshire businesses to work together to do this by joining our business buddy scheme and supporting the entrepreneurs of tomorrow in any way they can.”
