In Brief: Richard Alan Engineering; Strata Homes; WSB

BUOYANT business Richard Alan Engineering, has won two major new contracts.

The business, which manufactures a range of engineered equipment in the water, chemical, process and manufacturing industries, has been awarded a two-year contract to undertake maintenance services for kitchen sink, tap and accessories manufacturer Astracast in a deal worth over £300,000.

The Dewsbury-headquartered business has also announced it has been awarded a three-year contract to undertake mechanical and thermal insulation maintenance services for agrochemical giant Nufarm.

Nufarm is the ninth largest Agricultural Chemical supplier in the world, according to the business, providing crop protection chemicals around the globe.

Richard Alan Engineering is a part of the Richard Alan Group, which was recently recognised by the London Stock Exchange Group as one of the ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’. Founded in 1970, the group specialises in engineering, manufacturing and construction.

STRATA Homes will acquire new land and increase building thanks to a £30m funding package.

The Doncaster-based regional privately owned house builder is set for further growth after agreeing  the funding with Royal Bank of Scotland Corporate & Institutional Banking (RBS CIB) to support the acquisition of new sites.

The company has a turnover in excess of £82m from the sale of around 530 new homes. KPMG advised Strata on the transaction.

A LEEDS-based property agency has played a major role in evolving plans for a £30m leisure complex.

Terrace Hill has announced that Darlington Borough Council has granted planning permission for Feethams, a £30m leisure scheme that will regenerate a 1.9-acre former bus station in Darlington town centre into a cinema, hotel and restaurant complex.

Adam Mobley, partner at WSB Property Consultants, said: “We have worked extremely hard to reach this stage in the process with a number of parties committing to the scheme who recognize the significant consumer demand that exists in Darlington that the Feethams can satisfy. We aim to create a leisure destination that the town can be proud of.”
