Karro Food Group invests £500,000 in Yorkshire operation

KARRO Food Group, one of the leading suppliers of British pork into the retail and foodservice industries, is to invest £500,000 to upgrade its main processing line at its Yorkshire headquarters.

The investment by Karro at its Malton site will be used to improve its pig processing operation.

Karro, which has annual sales of £540m and is privately owned and employs 3,000 people, said the investment will create production efficiencies and a reduction in energy use and will result in the business having a system that is best in class in the meat industry.  

The upgrade comes as part of an ongoing review of manufacturing operations to identify areas of the process that can be improved. Work will start in January 2014 and will be completed by end of March).
