Baking manufacturer expands with launch of new division

INVICTA Bakeware – the 100 year old Yorkshire manufacturing firm that has made its name supplying metal bakeware and bakery equipment – has branched out into plastics with the launch of a new trading division.
Food Industry Supplies (FIS) will offer a range of plastics, storage and handling equipment to all sectors of the food processing industry.
John Waddington, managing director of the North Yorkshire-based firm, which was founded in 1912, said he is confident that this new venture for the business will offer broader solutions for the increasingly challenged food industry.
“Businesses today are required to introduce effective segregation systems to meet the growing demands of changing legislation and external audit,” he said.
“One way of achieving this is through colour coding and our new range of products makes it incredibly easy to put such a system in place.”
FIS enters the market offering a range of products from a small knife through to the company’s latest innovation – a twin skin mobile ingredient truck.
Divisional manager, Chris Newton, joined Invicta in 2010 from a storage and handling background to spearhead Invicta’s entry into the world of plastics.
“We have taken considerable time and effort to develop a range of products that are worthy of Invicta’s strong reputation for high quality manufacturing,” he said.
“This has involved the introduction of new tooling equipment and strengthening strategic production areas within the factory by bringing in additional skilled members of staff.
“The range is now ready for launch and there is a great sense of excitement within the company as we look forward to introducing the products to our long-established customers and new markets alike.”
