Global packaging firm chooses Yorkshire to form new UK head office

A GLOBAL packaging firm has chosen Yorkshire as the place to open its first ever UK office.

The producer of anti-microbial branded packaging, Micro-Pak, has launched in in Huddersfield, as it plans to expand deeper into Europe and supply major retailers and brands.

Micro-Pack, which was launched in 1998, has appointed Steve Bracewell as its general manager in the UK and Ireland. He was previously European managing director at K Swiss International and global product and marketing director at Reebok International.

Bracewell’s role will involve the development of new Micro-Pak infrastructure in the UK and Ireland, which will complement the company’s other business operations in Hong Kong, China, USA and the Netherlands.

He said: “I’m excited to join Micro-Pak and support the set-up of the company’s business here. I intend to create a brand of worth and substance, and work with the UK’s major retail players to become a truly global business.”

Micro-Pak currently supplies many of the UK’s leading brands and retailers including Tesco, Asda, ASOS, Debenhams, Ugg Boots, GHD, Sports Direct, Primark and Fred Perry.

Martin Berman, founder and global managing director at Micro-Pak, said: “We are pleased to make this strategic investment and set up an infrastructure in the UK to better serve our customers in the UK and Ireland.”

Micro-Pak’s new UK office will be based at The Media Centre in Huddersfield.
