Appointments: Leeds Building Society; Wosskow Brown; NBS; Keycare; RandomStorm

LEEDS Building Society has appointed Susan Cooklin as a non-executive director.

She joins the society board with immediate effect, alongside four executive directors and eight non-executive directors, led by chairman Robin Ashton.

She is currently group chief information officer at Network Rail and holds a non-executive director position on the board of Leeds Metropolitan University.

Mr Ashton said: “Susan has extensive experience of leading large and complex change across business and IT teams in the financial services and transport sectors, and this will be invaluable as we continue with our successful programme of investment and innovation to sustainably develop the business and offer good value and excellent service to our growing number of members.”

KEYCARE, which provides insurance for lost and stolen keys, has promoted three of its 35-strong team to the roles of associate director.

Matthew Lindsay, Gaynor Owens and Christine Smith have been jointly employed by the second generation family business, which is based in Shipley, for two decades in positions spanning sales, new business development and operations.

Keycare chief executive David Robertson said: “These posts reinforce our commitment to strong corporate governance, giving us a robust base to ensure Keycare goes from strength to strength.”

Andrew HaighANDREW Haigh, the former chief executive of Yorkshire-based Engage Mutual, has taken the role of chief operating officer at Newcastle Building Society (NBS).

Haigh stood down in December 2012 after more than 10 years as CEO of the Harrogate-based savings and health insurance friendly society.

Angela Russell, the Society’s finance director since July 2010, has taken up the additional role of deputy chief executive.

Phil Moorhouse, chairman of NBS, said: “The board is delighted with these appointments. They boost our skill-set further, offer the right level of continuity we need on our board and will help us deliver the next stages of our corporate strategy.”

Wosskow Brown has appointed Emilda Eaton as partner who will head up the private client departmentSHEFFIELD-based law firm Wosskow Brown has appointed Emilda Eaton as partner who will head up the private client department.

Having joined Wosskow Brown in 2012 to manage wills, probate and trusts, Eaton has developed the team into a full-service private client department and now heads that team as partner.

Private client department services across all four Wosskow Brown now also include estate planning, long-term asset preservation and matrimonial advice.

Formerly a partner of hlw Keeble Hawson, Eaton will be focusing on Wosskow Brown’s corporate clients as well as expanding the existing probate, wills and elderly client advice offered.

“The private client department has grown to 13 staff and with this breadth of expertise we plan to continue our trajectory, working closely with South Yorkshire communities and widening the services we can offer,” she said.

RandomStormSECURITY and compliance company RandomStorm has welcomed Tony Bolland on board as non- executive director.

Bolland specialises in sales and management team development and in building strategic alliances and international channel sales for high-growth companies.

He is experienced at leading high-growth technology companies and brings more than 23 years’ information security industry knowledge to the role.

Bolland co-founded Vistorm, an information security and infrastructure services company that was successfully acquired by EDS in March 2008. He was co-founder and CEO of AppSense, a global leader in enterprise workplace management software and, most recently, held the position of CEO at Windows privilege management company Avecto.

He has held leadership and board positions with three of the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 companies, which identifies Britain’s private technology companies with the fastest-growing sales over a three year period.

RandomStorm provides vulnerability scanning, network security monitoring products and consultancy services to help public and private sector companies to improve their security and comply with industry guidelines and data protection regulations.
