Board changes at Electronics Yorkshire

ELECTRONICS Yorkshire – a not-for-profit organisation designed to support the region’s electronics industry – has announced a number of senior board changes.

At its annual general meeting in September, it was announced that Colin Dawson would be retiring as chairman of the Leeds-based organisation.

Mr Dawson, managing director of Pudsey-based Daletech Electronics, had been chairman of Electronics Yorkshire for nearly five years and was instrumental in making Electronics Yorkshire into one of the most respected regional support organisations in the country.

He will continue to play an active role as a board member.

At the meeting, Stephen Jagger also retired as vice-chairman and stepped down from the board.

Dr Chris Worrall, managing director of Arrow Technical Services will take up the position of chairman with immediate effect.

He will be supported by Gary Nevison, customer support manager at Premier Farnell, who takes on the role of vice-chairman.

Two new board members were also appointed at the meeting, Keith Gibbeson of Micro Forge and Dave Carr of Calrec Audio.

Peter Brooks, Electronics Yorkshire’s chief executive officer said: ‘Whilst I am sorry to see Colin and Stephen step down after all their hard work I am delighted with the new appointments. The experience and expertise they will all bring to our organisation will be invaluable as we continue to build on the success we have had in promoting and supporting the growth of the region’s electronics industry.’

Electronics Yorkshire, based at West Park in Leeds, is a not-for-profit organisation supported by Yorkshire Forward, the Learning and Skills Council and European Union ERDF and ESF.
