Bestobell wins major Chinese contract

BESTOBELL Valves has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract in China.

The contract is for cryogenic cargo globe valves from the Hudong Zhonghua shipyard.

The valves will be part of the largest LNGC vessels to be built at Hudong Zhonghua shipyard and will be due for delivery by the end of 2015.

Duncan Gaskin, sales director of the Sheffield-based firm, part of the President Engineering Group, said: “This new contract win is part of our strategy to invest resources to expand our growth in China.  Here we are focusing not just on supplying valves to new LNG Carriers, but also for the predicted boom in the use of LNG as a fuel for domestic vessels, as China seeks to convert its transport economy over to cleaner fuels. Bestobell Marine is well placed to serve this market through our experience of supplying high quality cryogenic valves for similar LNG fuel systems in Europe and America.”

This latest business win brings the number of contracts that Bestobell Marine has with the Hudong Zhonghua shipyard to ten.

The latest contract comes just a few weeks after Bestobell Marine secured a contract to supply DSME Shipbuilding company in South Korea with Globe, Check and FLIV valves.
