Dental experts join forces for new venture following funding deal
A DENTAL practice which aims to position itself as the “Harley Street of the North” has opened its doors backed by a £900,000 funding deal.
Dental Excellence brings together the talents of four leading dental professionals.
Donald Sloss, Mark Willings, Jon Swarbrigg and clinical dental technician Mark Price have joined forces for the venture, based within the grounds of Harewood House halfway between Leeds and Harrogate.
Dr Sloss said: “The four of us got talking at a dental conference in Germany, and discussed how we all wanted to be able to bring together our advanced skills under one roof. As we’re all based in the Yorkshire area this was the ideal location, and driving up to this beautiful Georgian mansion puts patients at ease right away. It is a first in the UK and we are offering what is effectively a Harley Street level and range of expertise in a country estate setting.”
Separately to Dental Excellence, each partner also runs a successful practice and will continue to do so while devoting an increasing number of days to the new facility.
Dr Sloss, who is a director of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, said: “The market for complex and intricate dentistry is growing in the UK, with the dental market going up, especially on the implants side, and cosmetic dentistry changing too. A few years ago it was all about veneers, but now there are kinder ways to enhance a smile. The key point is that we’re here to support dentists and work with them so that patients can get the best treatment possible.”
Along with Sloss’ standing in cosmetic dentistry, Willings is a leading authority on implants and Swarbrigg on restorative dentistry, while Price is regarded as one of the country’s leading clinical dental technicians.
Dental Excellence has become a reality thanks to a £625,000 commercial loan and a £50,000 overdraft from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, together with a £230,000 asset finance facility from Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance.
