Business community gets ready to raise a glass to charity beer festival

YORKSHIRE’S business community is getting ready to raise a glass in support of this year’s Harrogate Round Table Charity Beer Festival.
A host of companies, including Irwin Mitchell, VocaLink, Baker Tilly, Clarion Solicitors, Murray Harcourt Partners, DWF, Multiflight, Vantage Toyota, Brewin Dolphin, Cardale Asset Management, Ventrolla and CNG will be turning out to support the popular event, now in its 24th year, to help raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice, Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Martin House Children’s Hospice, Carers Resource and Disability Action Yorkshire.
“Local businesses have been incredibly generous over the years in supporting the event. Last year we raised over £42,000 for local charities and we hope to top this figure this year,” said Steve Turner, chairman of Harrogate Round Table.
This year’s event will take place at The Crown Hotel on March 27, 28 and 29.
Sponsors include Cardale, Vp, GVA, Gent Visick, Ethos Corporate Finance, Ellis Bates Insurance Brokers, Schofield Sweeney, Eversheds, Earthmill, Barclays and many more.
Another popular event in the Yorkshire business calendar is Ilkley Beer Festival, which saw hundreds of members of Yorkshire’s business community help to raise a record £40,000 for charity.
The annual sell-out saw figures from across the county attend a specially organised corporate event held as part of the two day festival.
Dozens of organisations again sponsored the event, helping to raise money for charities and good causes across the Ilkley district.
The festival, organised by Ilkley & District Round Table, attracted more than 2,500 people at the Kings Hall and Winter Garden.
Martin Fisher, a member of Ilkley & District Round Table, said: “This year’s event was once again a huge success and we are extremely grateful to all our sponsors and attendees from the business community for their ongoing support.
“Ilkley Beer Festival has now raised more than £100,000 for charity and we were absolutely thrilled to raise a record amount this year.”
