Capes takes the reins at Baker Tilly in Hull

BAKER Tilly has appointed a new office managing partner in Hull.

Andy Capes will take over the reins from Andrew Mould, who steps down after eight years in the role to concentrate on client work.

In his new position, Capes will be responsible for managing the six partners and 55 staff at Baker Tilly’s Hull office in Humber Quays, Wellington Street West, which recently expanded following the firm’s merger with RSM Tenon last year.

Capes has been a partner at Baker Tilly since 2007 and has experience in the audit of medium and large-sized owner operated companies and advising on company transactions. A major focus of his role to date has been to help businesses with strategic planning, profit improvement, risk management and growth, and he also heads the firm’s Northern food and drink group. He was also a staunch supporter of Hull’s bid to win the City of Culture crown, and was instrumental in signing up Baker Tilly as one of the 2017 ‘business angel’ sponsors.

During his tenure, Mould was active in the local business community as a member of the local IoD Executive, the Dove House Hospice Love You 2 Appeal Committee, Hull Bondholders and the Help for Health Charity. He also advised many businesses on surviving and growing through the recession. He will now lead the local Baker Tilly tax practice with the support of tax partner Jackie Hall.
