LAW firm Langleys has appointed Sarah Valentine as an assistant solicitor in the York office to further strengthen its dispute resolution team, part of the firm’s commercial division.

Ms Valentine joins Langleys from completing her legal training contract at Brooke North LLP in Leeds.

Previously, she graduated from Lancaster University with a 2:1 hons LLB before undertaking the Legal Practice course at York’s College of Law.

Jonathan Mortimer, head of dispute resolution at Langleys, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sarah to help strengthen our team in the current economic climate as we are increasingly being asked for advice relating to disputes from our commercial clients. In a down turn, there tends to be more disputes as businesses can spend more time considering their options to bring claims when they are not busy with other profitable activity, and those in financial trouble find reasons not to pay and will defend proceedings to delay payment.”
