Waldeck provides services for Green Port Hull project

WALDECK has announced it is delivering project and cost management services for the £165m Green Port Hull project.

The services include commercial controls, programming, and risk management and will assist in the construction of a new quay facility, at ABP’s Alexandra Dock in Hull, and a new rotor blade factory in Paull.

The work will be lead out of the design and engineering consultancy’s Hull and Grimsby offices. It’s work on the project commenced in 2013, with completion expected late 2016.

Paul Waldeck, director and founder, said:  “We made a commitment to the Humber region four years ago when we first heard about the potential for regeneration of the region, particularly on the back of anchor investments such as the Green Port Hull project which will serve the world’s largest offshore wind farm projects generating sustainable power for the UK.  We are delighted to have been working with ABP, supporting them and partners Siemens in the project and cost management services in commercial controls, programming, and risk management of this massive £165m investment.”

Green Port Hull is a landmark moment for the Humber region, promising regeneration and the creation of many hundreds of new jobs and new skills.

Siemens’s manufacturing plans will help create around 1,000 jobs – 550 at the blade factory and 450 at Green Port Hull. This is a welcome boost to the economy and to Hull which will be City of Culture in 2017 when the factory will be up and running.
