£1.8m Chinese and US contract wins for CPS

PNEUMATIC conveying and air filtration systems provider Clyde Process Solutions announced today that it has won two major contracts in the Chinese petrochemicals market and US food sector.

The Doncaster-based group has secured a £1m contract from a leading Chinese producer of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to provide a series of pneumatic conveying and truck unloading systems handling PVC resin.

CPS’s scope of supply also includes filters, material handling valves and silos used to store and discharge the PVC resin to the customer’s fleet of trucks.

These items will be installed at the customer’s PVC production plant in the Anhui Province of China.

CPS, through its subsidiary MAC Equipment, has also been awarded an £800,000 order from a US food manufacturer diversified in producing cereals, baking products and a variety of food products under numerous brand names.

CPS will provide bulk unloading, transfer, post extrusion and drying transfer systems as part of the expansion at a large existing plant located in the US.

Chief executive Alex Stewart said: “We are making strong progress with our global petrochemicals strategy having now secured our second significant order in this market in the last two months.

“Through close co-operation with our US subsidiary, our Chinese subsidiary, which has built strong relationships with several petrochemical producers, has secured this order against strong competition from two of China’s prominent material handling providers in this market.

“Our Chinese subsidiary is steadily building a strong pipeline of prospects in this territory.”

He added: “We are focused on strengthening our order book and pleased to start the second half of our financial year with two orders of this magnitude, both of which were secured at healthy levels of contribution.”
