Olympic heroes help car repair company get up and running
OLYMPIC heroes Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee have lent their support to a fast-growing car repair company in Leeds.
The Brownlee brothers from Bramhope are driving cars provided by Wheel Repairs, after owner and managing director Dan Besau heard they needed sponsored vehicles.
The sponsorship of the Brownlees coincides with WheelRepairs’ move into new premises at Copley Hill Trading Estate in Whitehall Road, Leeds. The company has taken 7,500 sq ft of industrial accommodation on a five-year lease with landlords Towngate.
WheelRepairs, which provides alloy wheel repairs to vehicles, employs 19 staff and is looking to expand.
Mr Besau said: “This is a new venture for us as we undertake solely bespoke high-end alloy wheel repairs. We have invested in new CNC lathes and equipment to carry out the diamond cut repairs to an extremely high standard and we are the only combined CNC Lathe and powder coating facility of this type in Yorkshire promoting an environmentally friendly paint-stripping method.”
Mr Besau founded DentRepairs, a mobile car repair company in 1995. DentRepairs is now sharing the same industrial unit at Copley Hill as its sister company.
“We have gone from strength to strength,” he explained. “The mobile business has proved popular and successful and, when I spotted a gap in the market for high-end alloy wheel repairs, I had the confidence to go for it.
“We have a formidable client list, including many of the quality Yorkshire dealerships such as Bentley Leeds; BMW Leeds, Harrogate, York and Bradford; Mercedes Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and York; Ferrari Leeds; Aston Martin Leeds; and Audi York and Harrogate.”
He added: “I was so impressed watching Alastair and Jonathan at the Olympics that I decided to get in touch and see how I could support these “Yorkshire heroes”.
“This has led to an excellent relationship between us and Alistair and Jonathan. They have both shown a genuine interest in our business and have been exceptionally supportive. We are honoured to be associated with two such amazing Olympic medallists,” he added.
