Surge in demand for start up space as host of businesses move into science park

EIGHT new businesses have been welcomed by York Science Park following a surge in demand for start-up space.
York Science Park’s Springboard scheme is designed to provide a flexible environment for early stage businesses while they become established and its latest residents include a market intelligence company, an aluminium import/export operation, an IT developer and a business offering unique music services for children.
Tracey Smith, managing director, York Science Park, said: “We have certainly seen an increase in demand for our start-up space over recent months. It’s fascinating to see the wide range of products these new businesses are offering and developing and I am sure they will all benefit from being amongst like-minded entrepreneurs focused on growing their new businesses.”
Established in 2010, Springboard enables entrepreneurs and businesses to easily access business people, academic departments and researchers leading to innovative solutions and business opportunities.
