Deadline looms for Women in Business Awards

WITH just two weeks to go to the closing date of the Forward Ladies Women in Business Awards, the region’s businesswomen are being urged to complete their entry forms.

This year’s final event takes place on November 28 at the Queens Hotel in Leeds, and for the first time includes a new science, technology, engineering and manufacturing category.

There are a total of 12 categories, and the overall winner will be chosen as the most outstanding of the 12 category winners.

This will be the first awards since Forward Ladies was bought by business woman Griselda Togobo earlier this year.

She said: “The Women in Business Awards have always been the highlight of the Forward Ladies calendar, and this will be no different. The awards continue to attract professional women of the highest calibre, and we hope that will continue. It is part of our ethos to celebrate and recognise the enormous contribution made by women to the regional economy, and to the mentoring and support that they give to each other.

“We will continue to applaud the achievements of women at all levels of their career, including those who are just starting out, those under 28, and those who work from home to fit in with their family commitments.”

Last year, Jacqui Hall, MD of Harrogate-based energy company CNG, took the top title in winning the outstanding business woman of the year. She was also awarded the title of corporate leader of the year.
