Yorkshire businessman collects MBE

YORKSHIRE businessman Zulfi Hussain – founder of charity Global Promise and chief executive of Bradford-based Global Synergy Solutions – has collected his MBE for his services to business and charities.
Mr Hussain travelled to Buckingham Palace yesterday to collect the honour.
He said: “I arrived in Britain from Pakistan unable to speak one word of English but my parents ensured that I got myself an education and they inspired me to be successful. It is a great honour to see my work supporting local businesses and charities recognised by Her Majesty the Queen.”
Mr Hussain set up Global Promise in response to the devastation caused by the Asian Tsunami.
In less than six months the charity raised more than £2m, all of which was used to provide practical help to survivors of the disaster.
He also helped raise around £500,000 for the Asian Earthquake.
He has recently co-authored a book, ‘The Psychology of Coaching, Mentoring and Learning,’ which is now on sale worldwide and has been translated into a number of different languages.
