White Young Green director departs following review

CONSULTANCY group White Young Green has announced the departure of commercial director and company secretary Denis Connery following a review of its operations.
The Headingley-based company, which focuses on the engineering, rail, construction and environmental sectors, said that following the review it had decided to reposition all its commercial functions into business units under chief operating officer Paul Hamer.
“This move will offer our customers a technical and commercial service which is completely dedicated to their specific needs,” it said in a statement.
Finance director Bob Hartley will assume responsibility for the company secretary role.
WYG, which is working on the Leeds Plaza shopping complex, said Mr Connery is leaving “by mutual agreement”.
Lawrie Haynes, chief executive of WYG, said: “As we continue to grow, it is essential that we make sure our commercial activities are tailor-made for the wide range of customer groups we serve. This is why we have decided we need to de-centralise the commercial function and, instead, have the appropriate specialised commercial teams in each of our five main business units. I would like to thank Denis Connery for his contribution to the group and wish him well in his future career.”
