In brief: Leeds agency creates showbiz website; LINPAC scoops award

LEED-BASED digital agency MadeByPi has created a showbiz website for Sony BMG’s new artist Andrew Johnston.

Fourteen year old Andrew became an overnight sensation after his rendition ‘Pie Jesu’ in front of an audience of 14 million on the second series of Britain’s Got Talent.

He recently signed a record deal with SyCo music, Simon Cowell’s division of Sony BMG.

The launch of the debut album, ‘One Voice’ achieved number four in the album charts in its first week.

LINPAC Packaging has been recognised for its green credentials by winning the Environmental Company of the Year category in the prestigious UK Packaging Awards 2008.

The company is an international manufacturer and marketer of plastic packaging for the food industry, plastic returnable transit packaging (RTP) and other products.

It has manufacturing facilities on five continents and employs 9,000 people worldwide.

Organised by Haymarket Events, the national industry Award was presented at a ceremony at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.

LINPAC Packaging’s recycling division has grown considerably, and last year recycled 34,000 tonnes of post-consumer plastic waste – more than the total annual production of its Packaging division in the UK.

PRINCIPLES Agency in Leeds has won a four-way pitch to create and manage Ultralase’s new TV advertising campaign.

The Leeds-based strategic advertising, marketing and media agency creates a series of TV adverts featuring former Olympians, Jonathan Edwards CBE and Sir Steve Redgrave CBE as ambassadors; both having had first hand experience of laser eye surgery with Ultralase.

Tony Veverka, chief executive officer for Ultralase comments: “We have worked with Principles Agency over a number of years, during which time they have produced our most successful TV advertising campaigns.

The series of three 30-second adverts will be aired in the UK and adapted for Irish and Scottish audiences.
